The Chronic Pain Management Program requires a full-time highly organized team player who will join our interprofessional team as a Psychological Associate to assist us in carrying out the mission of St. Joseph's Care Group. This role requires a demonstrated appreciation of client-centred strength based care including the importance of accessibility, accountability, self-management principles, best practices and the complexity of chronic pain. It also requires knowledge and/or experience with decision guide processes, brief services including group and individual counselling, motivational interviewing, evidenced based practices, evaluation, and holistic programming. .

Qualifications:

- Psychological Associate designation
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
- Experience in the provision of brief and moderate term psychological intervention, including group and individual psychotherapy and behaviour management techniques with adults with mental health issues
-Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation principles, chronic disease self-management and holistic care
-Ability to complete diagnostic assessments - psychological assessment may include clinical interviewing, administration and interpretation of psychometric and non-psychometric testing
- Experience in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches with adults is preferred (i.e., solution focused therapy, EMDR, CPT, CBT, DBT, and group therapies)
- Knowledge of Decision guide/Shared Decision making model of care, motivational interviewing and strengths based approaches to care
- Knowledge and experience with the development, execution and evaluation of treatment plans utilizing SMART goals
-Demonstrated ability to work as part of an interprofessional team with skills, knowledge and attitudes in: interprofessional communication; patient/client/family/community-centred care; role clarification; team functioning; collaborative leadership and interprofessional conflict resolution.
-Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, judgment, critical thinking skills, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Experience in research, program evaluation, and knowledge transfer preferred
- Experience providing supervision to non-registered staff and/or students is preferred
- Understanding of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act and PHIPA)
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license, adequate insurance and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work and adherence to the SJCG Principles of Conduct
